Characteristics, Functions and Advantages of Liquid Argon Storage Tanks

Liquid Argon Storage Tanks

1.Characteristics of Liquid Argon Storage Tanks

Liquid argon storage tanks are of the vacuum powder insulation type. Their structure consists of an inner container and an outer container, forming a double-layer container, which can be divided into vertical and horizontal types. Depending on the medium it holds, the inner container is made of austenitic stainless steel, namely S30408. The outer container material is selected as Q345R according to different user regions. The interlayer between the inner and outer containers is filled with perlite (an insulating material) and vacuumed.

2.Functions of Liquid Argon Storage Tanks

  • 2.1 The liquid argon storage tank adopts a double-layer tank body, vacuum powder insulation, a complete quality assurance system, a strict manufacturing process, and high-quality key components, ensuring stable quality.
  • 2.2 A large amount of per lite is used for filling. All welds of the inner and outer containers of the liquid argon storage tank are inspected for leaks via helium mass spectrometry. It has excellent thermal insulation performance, low evaporation loss, and a long service life.
  • 2.3 Epoxy zinc-rich primer and topcoat are applied to ensure a more attractive product appearance and a longer anti-corrosion service life.
  • 2.4 The liquid argon storage tank has a compact structure. Advanced pipeline and process design make operation simpler and maintenance more convenient.
  • 2.5 Liquid argon storage tanks are available in vertical and horizontal types. In addition to conventional products, cryogenic liquid storage tanks of various volumes and pressure grades can be designed and manufactured.

3.Advantages of Liquid Argon Storage Tanks

  • 3.1The design is advanced, with a reasonably planned pipeline system and operation system.
  • 3.2The layout of the liquid argon storage tank is simple, compact, and aesthetically pleasing.
  • 3.3A double-liquid inlet (upper and lower liquid inlet) system is adopted.
  • 3.4The liquid argon storage tank uses double-set valves and explosion-proof equipment.
